Free Thought Forum
Date: 06/16/2019
Time: 10:10:00 AM
Description:

For the 3rd Sunday of June, our Free Thought Forum will host star-gazer and educator John Heasley presenting "Apollo 50 and the Next Giant Leap".

Fifty summers ago, humans first made footprints on another world. What happened? What came of it? And what does this half-century-old achievement portend for the future, now that the word on most people’s lips is not “moon” but “Mars”?
John Heasley is an astronomy educator for Driftless Stargazing LLC, for the UW-Richland, Kickapoo Valley Reserve, and Taliesin. He received training as a space educator through Space Education Initiatives and Arizona State University Mars Education Program.

Free Thought Forums continue the legacy of free and open inquiry established more than 150 years ago by the founders of the Free Congregation. As their Sunday programs did then, today’s Forums express our commitment to free thought in religion, guided by reason, and inspired by the “books of Nature and World History.” Please join us; you are always welcome! Childcare is available, too!
