U-U Program - Robin Proud
Date: 06/23/2019
Time: 00:00:00 AM
Description:
4th Sunday of June, Unitarian-Universalist Program, Associate Speaker Robin Proud will present remarks on The Rabbi’s Atheist Daughter: Ernestine Rose.

In the mid-19th century, speaker Ernestine Rose was called “the queen of the platform”. Her speeches on women’s rights were more famous than those of Susan B. Anthony or Elizabeth Cady Stanton. But she was largely erased from history because she was an immigrant, a radical, and an atheist. As such, she had much in common with her contemporaries who founded FCSC.
